Our Story

Valerie Lavin, founder, and CEO of Luminary Global knows the importance of being prepared. As a retired Army First Sergeant with 21 years of experience serving our country, Valerie discovered the passion she has for service has extended past retirement and put her on a quest to find ways to serve those Americans who serve their country and their communities. Her first mission of service came naturally as she became involved with the local Veteran Entrepreneur ecosystem. Her passion for helping veterans navigate the business world as entrepreneurs prepared her for venturing into her own business starting Luminary.

While Valerie is still very involved with preparing veterans to succeed in their own businesses, she also wants to support the men and women who are the lifeline between preventable death and hospital care by providing pre-hospital and emergency preparedness products.

After starting Luminary in 2016, Luminary experienced immediate traction by successfully securing engagements with prominent agencies within Tampa Bay and the State of Florida. This growth led to her husband Jeremy Lavin joining Luminary in 2017 as the COO. Jeremy has over 15 years of operational experience in the government and commercial sectors. His experience in establishing infrastructure for early-stage and high growth companies coupled with his expertise in government contracting and procurement has proven to be an indispensable addition to the Luminary team.

Luminary has continued to grow year over year. By strategically expanding our product offerings and solution-based services Luminary’s client base has expanded exponentially. We proudly support citizens, government agencies, and businesses nationwide. Whether it be the US Forest Service, US Army Fire & ES Divisions, your local hospital system, or our neighbor down the street, Luminary will always be there for you, ready to serve.  

Valerie and Jeremy’s mantra is Work. Serve. Play. Whether its spending the day at the beach, visiting with family and friends, or playing with our four-legged children Cain and Sampson, they live life to the fullest every day.

Luminary’s social mission is to support veterans and military family members with their dreams to become entrepreneurs. We do this by volunteering as entrepreneurship education and training facilitators through a non-profit Valerie helped form, Action Zone. Additionally, Valerie is a volunteer City Leader for Bunker Labs as well as well as the Vice President for the Central Florida Chapter of National Veteran Small Business Coalition.
