Shana is a freelance writer and editor with a BA in English from Tarleton State University. In addition to her writing, Shana has over 20 years of experience in the professional service industry. Her ability to deliver no matter the task coupled with her technical writing skills have resulted in increased responsibilities and leadership roles throughout her career. Shana always finds herself not only using her attention to detail to guarantee a job is done beyond expectations but is often asked to mentor those around her, as she is recognized as a subject matter expert in her discipline. She has served as leader, trainer, coordinator, and manager of multi-functional teams for organizations ranging from small businesses to large corporations. These roles have involved her not only leading staff but developing, implementing, and maintain complex SOP’s via written protocols to ensure enterprise-wide efficiency in operations and customer service.
In her personal life, Shana has also taken on the challenge of homeschooling her three children for the past six years. In addition to overseeing their education, she has also coordinated with other homeschool families to spearhead the creation and implementation of a Co-op to assist other families in the community. This consortium was initiated by her developing a curriculum and deploying teaching guidelines, schedules, and benchmarks that have led to increased efficiency and standardization across the ecosystem.
Her passion for helping others has also been seen in the community. She teaches elementary-age children and has served as the director for Vacation Bible School at her church.
Shana has completed C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) training in order to be prepared to serve her community in times of crisis.
At home, she and her husband strive to be good stewards of their land and work together for a self-sustaining lifestyle on their five-acre homestead outside of a small central Texas town.
