For a lockdown or shelter-in-place, including one that brings a power cut, the Guardian Student Classroom Lockdown Kit equips a teacher and up to 25 students with water, KN95 masks, a radio, light and a 107-piece first aid kit, in one 5-gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid.

It reaches past the basics: a pry bar, plastic sheeting and duct tape, 3 solar emergency blankets, 26 water pouches with a 5-year shelf life, and a contents and instructions insert so anyone can find what they need.

Why it works:

  • A KN95 mask for every student: 26 KN95 particulate filtering face masks, plus 3 bags of vinyl gloves (2 pairs each).
  • Water for the class: 26 x 4 oz water pouches with a 5-year shelf life.
  • Real first aid, not just bandages: a 107-piece deluxe soft shell first aid kit with 35 adhesive bandages, 30 butterfly wound closures, gauze pads, gauze rolls, tape and an instant cold compress, plus 4 3" gauze roll bandages.
  • Radio, light and batteries: a mini AM/FM pocket radio, a flashlight with D batteries, a 4-piece set of AAA batteries, 2 green 12-hour light sticks and a whistle with lanyard.
  • Tools, cover and sanitation: a pry bar, a 5' x 7' tarpaulin, 12' x 9' plastic sheeting, 2 rolls of duct tape, 3 solar blankets, 12 biohazard bags, 12 air fresheners, toilet paper and 100 wet naps.

Who it's built for:

For teachers, it is the bucket that brings masks, a radio and tools along with water and first aid. For districts and agencies, it equips classrooms of up to 25 students to the same standard.
