When a shift or operation calls for admin gear, a magazine and a radio, the Rothco Drop Leg Utility Rig puts all three on your thigh, organized and in reach. It arrives as a complete loadout: a padded 6¼" x 12¾" MOLLE platform carrying three removable pouches for utility items, a single mag and a radio. Both the belt strap and leg strap are fully adjustable with side release buckles, so you set the fit to your own belt and leg.

Why it works:

  • Ready out of the package: There is no separate pouch hunt before your first shift, because the rig comes with 3 removable MOLLE compatible pouches: utility, single mag and radio.
  • Admin gear stays sorted: Small items get their own spaces instead of piling together. The 5.5" x 3.75" utility pouch has a zippered compartment, two external pockets, an expandable pocket with two dividers and a zippered pocket on the flap.
  • Mag and radio each secured: Each piece has a closure of its own. The 4.5" x 1 5/8" mag pouch closes with hook and loop, and the 5 1/8" x 1 7/8" radio pouch uses a side release buckle and an adjustable elastic cord.
  • Padding against the leg: Comfort comes from what sits between platform and thigh: the back side is padded for additional comfort and also features MOLLE looping.
  • Rearrange as the task changes: Every pouch comes off, so you can reposition the layout on the platform's MOLLE loops, all built from rugged 600D polyester.

Who it's built for:

This rig suits law enforcement officers and tactical users who want a ready-made thigh loadout instead of assembling one piece by piece. It is ideal for law enforcement and tactical operations.

In the box

  • 1 x Rothco Drop Leg Utility Rig platform
  • 1 x Utility pouch (removable)
  • 1 x Single mag pouch (removable)
  • 1 x Radio pouch (removable)
  • Vest-Clearing Utility Operators shift admin gear, a rifle mag, and a radio to a thigh platform to declutter a vest. The padded back keeps the rig stable against the leg.
  • Field & Patrol Loadout Officers and field teams carry first aid, a mag, and comms within reach on a MOLLE thigh rig. The quick-release belt strap mounts or drops it fast.
  • Airsoft & MilSim Airsoft and milsim players run a pre-loaded thigh rig with utility, mag, and radio pouches. The standard MOLLE lets them reconfigure the setup for a game.
  • Backcountry Treks Hikers and hunters carry tools and a radio on a thigh platform over a long trek. The adjustable leg strap keeps the rig from shifting on the move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take the pouches off or move them?▸

Yes. All three pouches are removable and MOLLE compatible, and the platform has MOLLE loops, so you can detach a pouch or reposition it on the platform.

How does the rig attach to my belt and thigh?▸

It uses a belt strap and a leg strap, both fully adjustable with side release buckles, so you can size each one to your belt and your leg.

How does this compare with Rothco's MOLLE Drop Leg Panel?▸

Choose the Drop Leg Utility Rig for a padded 6¼" x 12¾" platform that includes utility, single mag and radio pouches. Choose the MOLLE Drop Leg Panel for a 6.5" wide by 9.75" high grid with four rows of four MOLLE loops and two more loops up top.
