The Emergency Zone Complete Hurricane Survival Kit for two people packs a household's storm supplies into a waterproof, durable 5 gallon bucket that becomes a toilet when the plumbing stops working. When the forecast turns toward your coast, fill the six collapsible water pouches while the tap still runs and tune the radio for NOAA messages. After landfall, the LED lantern lights the room and the kit can charge a phone.

Why it works:

  • The bucket carries the kit, then serves as the toilet: The waterproof, durable 5 gallon bucket takes the toilet seat, Eco Gel, 10 toilet liners, biohazard bag and nitrile gloves.
  • Water storage you fill before landfall: FEMA recommends one gallon of water per person per day. The 6 collapsible 4L water pouches ship empty for filling ahead of the storm, with 30 Aquatabs water purification tablets.
  • More than one way to light the house: An LED lantern, a Pocket CREE Mini Flashlight and 4 light sticks back up the 4-in-1 Emergency Flashlight.
  • A charged phone and NOAA updates: The kit can charge a phone or device, and the AM/FM/WB radio receives NOAA messages.
  • Food, first aid and washing up for two: Two 3,600 kcal food ration bars, a 53 pc first aid kit and a hygiene set with toothbrushes, shampoo and a soap bar ride inside.

Who it's built for:

A two-person household on the hurricane coast getting ready before the season starts.
