The Rothco Tactical Assault Panel (TAP) lets you decide each outing whether it rides on its own harness or clips onto the carrier you already own. The adjustable, removable harness carries it standalone, while the included shoulder plate carrier adapters and split bar side release buckles attach it to a plate carrier or tactical vest. Six magazine pockets run across the front, flanked by two outer pockets for a radio or GPS, and three mesh pockets on the back panel keep maps and a compass sorted.

Why it works:

  • Two ways to wear one panel: Switch between standalone and vest-mounted setups with a single piece of gear, since the harness is adjustable and removable and 2 shoulder plate carrier adapters come in the box.
  • Magazines stay secured: Each of the 6 magazine pockets closes with hook and loop, so magazines stay put until you reach for them.
  • Comms at the edges: Two outer hook and loop strap pockets on either end of the magazine row hold a radio, GPS, flashlight or extra magazines.
  • Flat items sorted behind: The back panel carries 3 large mesh pockets, two with hook and loop and one zippered, and the middle panel pocket measures 11.5" x 8.75".
  • Room to add attachments: Three rows of MOLLE on the front panel take more pouches, with Coyote Brown in 600 Denier polyester and MultiCam in 1000 Denier Cordura nylon.

Who it's built for:

Airsoft and paintball players and tactical gear enthusiasts who want one panel for standalone or vest-mounted use will get the most from it. Active-duty professionals and law enforcement officers can run it the same way on duty.

At a glance:

  • Wear it: With the adjustable, removable harness as a standalone system, or attached to a plate carrier or tactical vest
  • Magazine pockets: 6, each with hook and loop closures
  • Outer pockets: 2 hook and loop strap pockets for a radio, GPS, flashlight or extra magazines
  • Back panel: 3 large mesh pockets: left and center hook and loop, right zippered
  • Middle panel pocket: 11.5" x 8.75"
  • MOLLE: 3 rows on the front panel
  • Material: Coyote Brown in 600 Denier polyester; MultiCam in 1000 Denier Cordura nylon

  • Rapid-Response Chest Rig Military and tactical teams carry six magazines and two radios on a low-profile chest rig. The removable harness runs it standalone while adapters attach it to a plate carrier.
  • Reconnaissance & Light Infantry Recon and light-infantry operators run a minimal high-mobility rig without a full carrier's weight. The MultiCam 1000 denier Cordura takes the friction of active field use.
  • Airsoft & MilSim Airsoft and milsim players run a MultiCam chest rig for fast reloads and a realistic loadout. The eight pockets sort magazines and radios for a full skirmish.
  • Range & Multi-Gun Competitive and range shooters keep a high mag count within reach on a standalone harness. The adjustable rig attaches to a plate carrier with the included adapters.
