The Rothco Stainless Steel Portable Camping Stove is a collapsible backpacking stove that runs on fuel cubes, liquid alcohol, wood or kindling. Flip its base plate flat-side up to burn fuel cubes or liquid alcohol, or flat-side down to burn wood and kindling gathered along the trail. Three support arms hold your pot over a vented combustion chamber, and the six-component stove packs into a mesh pouch.
Why it works:
- Switch fuels with one flip: You pick the fuel for the trip, not for the stove. The reversible base plate takes fuel cubes or liquid alcohol flat-side up, and wood or kindling flat-side down.
- An efficient burn: More air reaches the fire from below. The vented cylinder base and combustion chamber increase airflow for an efficient burn on wood or fuel.
- Fits the cookware you carry: Your pot or pan has a steady perch over the flame. Three rectangular support arms on the top accommodate a variety of cookware sizes.
- Tend the fire from a distance: You can build the flame without leaning into it. The included collapsible fire bellowing straw supplies air through an extended blower pipe that keeps your face back from the fire.
- Rides in your backpack: It fits in a backpack alongside the rest of your gear. The stove travels in a polyester mesh pouch with a cinch cord closure.
Who it's built for:
For backpackers and hikers who want one stove that handles fuel cubes, alcohol or found kindling, it keeps cooking options open from trailhead to camp.
