Quick Overview

This kit provides the tools for immediate point-of-injury care for life-threatening hemorrhage and penetrating chest trauma. Its defining rip-away feature enables rapid deployment from a vehicle headrest, duty belt, or tactical vest in high-stakes environments.

Field Application Steps

  1. Rip the IFAK pouch from its mounted Velcro panel to bring supplies to the casualty.
  2. Apply the windlass tourniquet "high and tight" to any limb with massive, uncontrolled bleeding.
  3. Use shears to expose chest injuries and apply a vented chest seal to any open wound.
  4. Pack junctional or deep wounds with NuStat hemostatic gauze and apply an Israeli pressure bandage.
  5. Use the marker to document the time of tourniquet application on the TQ strap or casualty's forehead.
  6. Don nitrile gloves before initiating any patient care to ensure Body Substance Isolation.
