Quick Overview

The Emergency StableHeat Fuel Set is a diethylene glycol-based portable cooking system that provides emergency personnel, preparedness operators, and disaster-affected households with a stable, field-deployable heat source for cooking and water purification when primary infrastructure is unavailable.

The system is built around a sealed fuel can with four variable wicks, a heavy-duty folding steel stove platform, and a full complement of supporting tools including a wrench, snuffer, and heat-resistant work gloves. Wick count controls heat output: one to two wicks for simmering, three to four for rapid boiling. Each can provides approximately four hours of burn time at full output, making fuel conservation a core operational consideration in any extended deployment.

Designed for static, austere environments including homes during power outages, emergency shelters, and disaster relief camps, the StableHeat system is rated for indoor use under strict ventilation protocols. Carbon monoxide production is a confirmed hazard, and adequate cross-ventilation is a non-negotiable protocol requirement, not an optional precaution. The system is not rated for use as a space heater, in sealed enclosures, in moving vehicles, or by unsupervised minors.

Readiness sustainment for this system includes annual visual inspection of all fuel cans for rust, seal degradation, or physical damage, as well as post-use maintenance to preserve seal integrity on partially used cans. A sound resupply strategy requires tracking fuel consumption across operations and establishing a reorder point before the ready supply is exhausted.

Field Application Steps

1. SITE SELECTION: Choose a level, non-combustible surface such as concrete, tile, or a brick hearth, positioned away from all flammable materials by a minimum of four feet. Open a window or door at least one to two inches to establish cross-ventilation before ignition.

2. FIRE SUPPRESSION STAGING: Place a Class B fire extinguisher, or an equivalent suppression resource such as sand or baking soda, within immediate reach of the operating position before deploying the stove.

3. STOVE DEPLOYMENT: Unfold the heavy-duty folding stove and confirm that all legs are fully extended and locked into position. A stable, locked platform is required before the fuel can is placed beneath it.

4. FUEL CAN PREPARATION: Use the wrench to break the factory seal on a new can, then unscrew the lid fully. Pull up the number of wicks required for your heat output: one to two wicks for simmering tasks, three to four wicks for rapid boiling.

5. IGNITION: Center the fuel can beneath the stove platform and ignite the raised wicks using a long-handled lighter or match. Confirm all intended wicks are lit before placing a cooking vessel on the stove.

6. COOKING OPERATION: Place your pot or pan securely onto the center of the stove platform. Monitor the cooking process continuously. Never leave an active stove unattended at any point during operation.

7. SHUTDOWN INITIATION: Don work gloves before touching any component. Remove the hot cooking vessel to a heat-safe surface clear of the stove.

8. FLAME EXTINGUISHMENT: Place the snuffer firmly over the fuel can opening, covering all lit wicks. Hold in place for a minimum of 15 seconds to fully deprive the flame of oxygen. Do not use water on a fuel fire.

9. COOLDOWN AND SECURING: Allow all components, including the stove, fuel can, and cooking vessel, to cool completely for 15 to 20 minutes. Screw the lid hand-tight onto the fuel can to preserve remaining fuel, wipe soot from the can threads to ensure a clean seal, and stow all components in the kit.
