- Make verbal contact with the victim, yelling "ROPE!" to signal your intent.
- Execute an underhand pendulum throw, aiming slightly downstream and beyond the victim.
- Allow the current to swing the rope into the victim's reach.
- Brace your position and retrieve the victim using a hand-over-hand motion.
