The EVAC Systems EP044 SCBA Duffel Bag is a professional-grade soft-sided transport and staging system designed for emergency responders, Safety Officers, and on-call personnel who need to store and deploy a spare Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus from a non-primary response vehicle or storage locker.

The duffel provides organized, protective containment for a fully assembled SCBA unit, including the cylinder, backplate, and harness, within its main compartment. The body is constructed from 1,000 Denier Cordura Nylon for high abrasion resistance, and the reinforced vinyl bottom creates a waterproof barrier that allows field staging on wet, snowy, or contaminated ground surfaces without moisture compromising harness webbing. A dedicated front facepiece pocket isolates the mask from the metal and hard plastic of the main assembly, protecting the lens and regulator connection port during transport.

Authorized deployment contexts include command and administrative vehicles staging spare packs for Incident Commanders, personal or POV response by volunteer and on-call personnel, industrial and SAR team caching operations, and training cadre movement of SCBA units to and from training grounds. This bag is explicitly not a substitute for bracket-mounted, rapid-donning SCBA storage on primary fire apparatus. The soft-sided design protects against abrasion, cuts, and minor impacts but does not provide crush protection equivalent to a molded hard case.

Readiness protocol requires a complete SCBA operational check before the unit is loaded into the bag, including cylinder pressure verification, harness inspection, regulator check, and PASS device function test. The bag must be inspected monthly for seam integrity, zipper function, barrier condition, and cleanliness. Any confirmed exposure to hazardous materials that cannot be fully remediated through decontamination is a mandatory criterion for removal from service.
