The Elite First Aid GP IFAK is a vehicle-ready first aid kit that buckles to most car and truck headrests, so everyone riding along knows where the first aid kit is.

The pouch sits on a removable hook and loop backing panel with MOLLE straps, with two D-rings for clips or carabiners and an adjustable buckle and strap for most vehicle headrests. A pull handle detaches the kit from its mount so it can go with you.

Inside are a BleedStop bandage, a CPR face shield, a 4" conforming gauze roll, sterile gauze pads in 2" x 2" and 4" x 4", a 5" x 9" trauma pad, 16 plastic bandages, 5 butterfly wound closures, burn gel, 6 sting relief pads, a Mylar emergency blanket, a penlight, trauma shears, a survival whistle and 2 packs of nitrile gloves. The kit measures 5" L x 8" W x 9" H and weighs 1.45 lb.

Keep the kit buckled in the same place in every vehicle, inspect it on a set schedule, check any dates printed on the components, and restock anything used before the next trip.

Field Application Steps

1. MOUNT THE KIT: Buckle the adjustable strap around a front-seat headrest so the pouch faces the back seat and stays in plain view. Tell everyone who rides along where it is.

2. KNOW THE LAYOUT: Open the kit once at home and match each item to the contents list, so you can find the gloves, gauze and bandages by name later.

3. CHECK THE SCENE: Pull over somewhere safe, turn on your hazard lights and look for traffic, fire or other dangers before you help anyone.

4. CALL FOR HELP: Call 911 for any serious injury or illness, or when you are not sure. Give your location and what happened.

5. FREE THE KIT AND GLOVE UP: Use the pull handle to detach the kit from its mount and take it to the person. Put on a pair of the nitrile gloves.

6. FIND THE RIGHT ITEM: Pick the item by its name: bandages, gauze pads, burn gel, sting relief pads or the CPR face shield. Use it as its own packaging directs and as your first aid training allows.

7. REPORT AND HAND OFF: Tell EMS or the person's caregiver what happened and which items you used.

8. RESTOCK AND REMOUNT: Replace every item you used or opened, then buckle the kit back onto the headrest.
