Contents: a NAR CAT Windlass Tourniquet, a Compressed Krinkle gauze bandage (4.5" x 4.1 yd), a Persys Medical Israeli Bandage (4"), a HyFin chest seal twin pack, a decompression needle, an NPA nasopharyngeal airway, lubricant jelly, 2 trauma pads (5" x 9"), hypoallergenic tape (1" x 10 yd), trauma shears and 2 packs of nitrile gloves. It measures 2.5" L x 7.5" W x 7" H and weighs 1.75 lb.

Check the leg and belt straps and the buckle before each shift, inspect the contents on a set schedule and after every use, and check any dates printed on the components. Restock each item used before the kit goes back on.

Field Application Steps

1. FIT THE STRAPS: Attach the pouch with its adjustable leg and belt straps so it rides at the thigh where you can reach it. Walk and kneel in your full loadout to check the fit.

2. INVENTORY ON ARRIVAL: Lift each elastic strap by its center pull tab and check every item against the contents list. Record anything missing or damaged before the kit goes into service.

3. LEARN THE LAYOUT: Note which elastic strap holds the tourniquet, the Israeli Bandage, the chest seal twin pack and the airway items. Keep that layout the same at every restock.

4. CHECK SCENE AND CALL: Check the scene for hazards before you approach. Call 911 or activate EMS as your protocol directs, and release the detachable buckle if you need the pouch off your leg.

5. OPEN, THEN GLOVE UP: Open the pouch, then put on the nitrile gloves from one of its glove packs before you reach for other items. Lift each elastic strap by its center pull tab to retrieve the item beneath it.

6. USE COMPONENTS BY NAME: Reach for each item by its name, such as the NAR CAT Windlass Tourniquet, the Compressed Krinkle gauze bandage or the HyFin chest seal twin pack. Use each one as its own packaging directs and as your training allows.

7. REPORT AND HAND OFF: Tell the arriving EMS crew what happened and which items you used. Set aside every opened wrapper so the restock list reflects what left the kit.

8. RESTOCK AND REFIT: Replace every item used or opened, seat each one under its elastic strap and check any dates printed on the components. Refit the leg and belt straps and log the restock.
