Quick Overview

This kit provides the essential tools for an immediate bystander response to control life-threatening external bleeding. It is specifically configured to meet California Regulation AB2260, ensuring new buildings are compliant and equipped for hemorrhage emergencies.

Field Application Steps

  1. Ensure the scene is safe, then don protective gloves.
  2. Locate the source of severe bleeding and expose the wound by cutting away clothing.
  3. For catastrophic arm or leg bleeding, apply the tourniquet 2-3 inches above the wound and tighten the windlass until bleeding stops.
  4. For wounds in other areas, pack the wound with the trauma dressing and apply firm, direct pressure.
  5. Using the marker, write the time of tourniquet application on the device or the patient's forehead.
  6. Stay with the patient, keep them warm, and await the arrival of professional medical responders.
