Quick Overview

These straps are used by first responders to rapidly and securely immobilize a patient to any standard spineboard for safe transport. Their simple two-piece design with rust-proof plastic buckles makes them ideal for fast application in trauma scenarios, especially in EMS, SAR, and aquatic rescue environments.

Field Application Steps

  1. Attach strap loop-ends to spineboard handholds on opposite sides of the patient using a girth hitch.
  2. Position straps across the patient's high chest, pelvis, and above the knees.
  3. Connect the quick-release buckles and pull the loose webbing until the patient is firmly secured.
  4. Verify patient's respiration and circulation are not compromised by the straps.
  5. To release, squeeze both sides of the plastic buckle for immediate disengagement at the destination.
  6. Inspect webbing and buckles for damage before each use; decontaminate after every patient contact.
