Field Application Steps

1. SELECT MOUNTING POSITION: Identify clear PALS webbing on your vest, pack, or belt. Prioritize a position near your center of gravity, such as pack sides adjacent to the back panel, to maintain balance during movement.

2. PREPARE MOLLE STRAPS: Unsnap the two vertical MOLLE straps on the rear of the cover. Confirm both straps are fully free and ready for weaving before proceeding.

3. WEAVE FOR ATTACHMENT: Starting from the top, pass each strap behind the first available row of PALS webbing on the platform. Continue by alternating between equipment PALS webbing and the cover's own webbing loops until all webbing rows are used.

4. SECURE TERMINAL SNAPS: Pull each strap taut and fasten the snap at the terminal end. A positive click confirms engagement. Repeat for both straps.

5. CONFIRM MOUNTING SECURITY: Vigorously pull on the cover in multiple directions. A properly mounted cover should feel like an integral part of the platform with no significant play or shift.

6. INSERT HYDRATION SOURCE: Place a filled 2-quart canteen or bladder into the fleece-lined main compartment. Do not force an oversized item into the cover, as this will strain seams and buckles.

7. POSITION AND CLOSE COVER FLAP: Pull the top cover flap over the opening. Verify the flap is not caught on the canteen cap or hydration hose before proceeding to buckle closure.

8. ENGAGE DUAL BUCKLES: Press both side-release buckles firmly until an audible click is heard on each one. Both clicks confirm positive lock and full retention.

9. CINCH RETENTION STRAPS: If adjustable retention straps are present, pull the loose ends to remove slack and prevent the canteen from shifting within the pouch during dynamic movement.

10. ALTERNATE DEPLOYMENT - ATTACH SHOULDER STRAP: When operating without a MOLLE platform, locate the two attachment points on the upper sides of the cover. Secure the polymer clips on each end of the shoulder strap to these points.

11. ADJUST SHOULDER STRAP FOR FIT: Don the cover and use the slide buckle to adjust strap length. Fit should be secure and minimize bounce during movement across varied terrain.
