Field Application Steps

1. INSTALL BATTERIES: Remove the threaded cap at the base of the flashlight and insert two (2) AA batteries, observing the polarity markings inside the compartment. Replace and tighten the cap fully before deployment.

2. PERFORM PRE-DEPLOYMENT FUNCTIONS CHECK: Inspect the plastic body for cracks, confirm the metal clip retains firm tension, and wipe the lens cover clear of dirt or moisture. Cycle through all four modes, White, Red, Green, and Blue, to confirm every LED is functional and the selector switch provides positive tactile feedback.

3. MOUNT THE DEVICE: Secure the flashlight via the metal clip to a stable PALS/MOLLE loop, chest rig, shirt pocket edge, belt, or pack strap. Orient the 90-degree angled head away from your face and pointed downward toward your immediate workspace.

4. SELECT THE CORRECT ILLUMINATION MODE: Press the mode selector switch to cycle through the fixed sequence: White, Red, Green, Blue, Off. Select Green for map and chart reading, Red for night vision preservation in low-light environments, Blue for pre-arranged short-range signaling only, and White when maximum brightness is required and light signature is not a concern.

5. EXECUTE HANDS-FREE TASK: With the device clipped and the correct mode active, use both hands freely to conduct the required task, whether map consultation, pack adjustment, or medical support work. Do not transition to white light in a low-signature environment unless operationally necessary.

6. TRANSITION MODES IF NEEDED: If task requirements change and light signature is less of a concern, press the selector switch to cycle to the next appropriate mode. Do not use blue light to assess injuries. Use a primary white light source for any trauma evaluation.

7. DEACTIVATE AND CONFIRM: Press the selector switch until the light is off. Confirm deactivation visually before resuming movement. The device remains clipped to your gear in a ready state for the next halt.

8. CONDUCT POST-DEPLOYMENT MAINTENANCE: Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth to remove mud, dirt, and grime. Re-inspect the body and clip for damage sustained during use before returning the device to storage or standby status.

9. REMOVE BATTERIES FOR STORAGE: If the device will not be used for 30 or more days, remove the AA batteries and store them separately in a dry location to prevent corrosive leakage from destroying the internal contacts.
