Field Application Steps

2. PREPARE MOLLE STRAPS: Unsnap the two snap fasteners at the terminal end of the MOLLE straps on the rear of the pouch to free the straps for weaving.

3. INITIATE STRAP WEAVE: Starting at the top, pass the ends of both MOLLE straps behind the first available row of PALS webbing on the host platform.

4. COMPLETE ALTERNATING WEAVE: Pull straps through, then thread back through the first row of webbing on the pouch itself. Continue this alternating pattern, behind platform webbing then through pouch webbing, until all available webbing rows are utilized to create maximum friction and stability.

5. SECURE SNAP FASTENERS: Pull straps taut and firmly close the snap fasteners. Confirm seating with an audible click on each fastener.

6. CONDUCT POSITIVE CHECK: Aggressively pull down and twist the mounted pouch. Minimal to no movement confirms correct installation. Significant play requires full strap removal and re-weave.

7. INSERT AND ORIENT CANTEEN: Place a standard G.I. style 1-quart canteen into the pouch body. Orient the canteen cap to be accessible through the opening of the Y-Strap.

8. SECURE CANTEEN WITH Y-STRAP: Drape the Y-Strap over the top shoulder of the canteen and connect the male and female ends of the quick-release buckle. Cinch the adjustable webbing until the canteen is held firmly with no significant rattling.

9. ACCESS HYDRATION IN THE FIELD: Depress both side-release tabs on the quick-release buckle with one hand to disengage the Y-Strap. Tilt the canteen forward within the pouch to access and remove the cap.

10. RE-SECURE AFTER USE: Replace the canteen cap, re-engage the quick-release buckle, and confirm full lock with a positive click and a light tug before returning to movement.
