Quick Overview

This device provides cervical spine immobilization specifically for patients being transferred with an open-frame scoop stretcher. It solves the critical gap where standard head blocks cannot be secured, ensuring a consistent standard of care for patients with suspected spinal injuries on specialized stretchers.

Field Application Steps

  1. Maintain continuous manual in-line stabilization of the patient's head and neck throughout the procedure.
  2. Securely anchor the base plate to the side frames of the scoop stretcher before positioning the patient's head.
  3. Place head blocks snugly against both sides of the patient's head, ensuring no gaps.
  4. Apply the forehead strap above the eyebrows and the chin strap over the hard point of the chin.
  5. Confirm the patient is fully immobilized and check for airway patency before releasing manual stabilization.
