  4. Apply the dressing directly to the burn to cool, soothe, and create a sterile barrier.
  5. Loosely secure the dressing with the conforming gauze roll, ensuring not to constrict circulation.
  6. Monitor the patient and arrange for professional medical evaluation for all but the most superficial burns.
