3. CONFIG A: INTEGRATE WITH RAIN PONCHO: Lay the rain poncho on the ground with the inner side facing up, then place the liner on top and align all tie strings with the corresponding grommets on the poncho. Secure each tie string with a quick-release bow knot, fold the integrated system in half lengthwise, and secure the poncho snaps from the bottom upward, leaving the top two to three snaps undone for entry.
4. CONFIG A: ENTER AND SECURE THE SYSTEM: Enter the integrated system feet-first and use the poncho hood to cover your head or shield your rucksack. Select a hasty site with good drainage and concealment before occupying the system.
5. CONFIG B: DEPLOY OVERWATCH WRAP: Unpack and fully open the liner, then drape it over the body ensuring maximum coverage of the torso, neck, and legs. This configuration maintains operator warmth in a seated or prone position while retaining situational awareness.
6. CONFIG C: ESTABLISH IMPROVISED SHELTER: Identify anchor points at the corners of the position, such as trees, rocks, or a vehicle. Secure the liner using corner tie strings to create a taut barrier, noting that tie strings are not load-bearing and must not support weight.
7. CONFIG D: EXECUTE CASUALTY HYPOTHERMIA WRAP: If available, place a foam pad or empty rucksack between the casualty and the ground to block conductive heat loss. Unfurl the liner completely and wrap the casualty to cover the torso, head, and neck, preventing both convective and radiant heat loss, then maintain the wrap while awaiting evacuation or definitive care.
8. CONDUCT FIELD MAINTENANCE BEFORE PACKING: Shake the liner vigorously to remove dirt, vegetation, and debris before packing. Spot clean minor spills with available water and allow the liner to air dry completely before stowing, as packing a damp or wet liner promotes mildew growth and degrades the material.
9. PERFORM POST-DEPLOYMENT SUSTAINMENT: Machine wash cold on the gentle or delicate cycle with mild detergent, using no bleach and no fabric softeners. Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting or hang to air dry, as high heat damages synthetic fibers and reduces insulation loft.
10. STORE TO PRESERVE INSULATION LOFT: Do not compress the liner for long-term storage. Store loosely in a large breathable bag such as a mesh laundry bag, or hang in a locker to maintain insulation loft and extend service life.
