3. DON PPE: Put on the vinyl gloves before any contact with the wound or the subject's blood. Glove application is non-negotiable and must occur prior to all subsequent steps.

4. WOUND PREPARATION: Use an antiseptic towelette to clean the skin surrounding the wound, wiping away from the injury site. If debris or grit is present, use the metal tweezers cleaned with an alcohol prep pad to remove visible particles from the wound surface.

5. BLEEDING CONTROL: Apply firm, direct pressure over the wound using a sterile gauze pad, either 2x2 inch or 3x3 inch depending on wound size. Maintain pressure continuously until active bleeding stops before proceeding to dressing selection.

6. DRESSING SELECTION AND APPLICATION: Select a non-adherent dressing for abrasions to minimize tissue disruption on removal, or a 76x25 mm adhesive bandage for minor lacerations. For larger wounds, deploy the 5x9 inch combine dressing. Peel the backing, apply the dressing directly over the wound, and press the adhesive firmly to clean, dry surrounding skin.

7. DRESSING SECURITY: Use adhesive tape or the elastic bandage to secure gauze pads or reinforce dressing edges where adhesion to the skin is insufficient. Ensure no edges are lifting before releasing the subject.

8. BIOHAZARD DISPOSAL AND FINAL ACTIONS: Dispose of all used materials including gloves, treating all blood-contaminated items as biohazard waste. Advise the subject to monitor for infection indicators including redness, swelling, pus, or localized heat, and to change the dressing daily or whenever it becomes wet.

9. PROFESSIONAL CARE REFERRAL: Instruct the subject to seek professional medical care if infection signs develop, if the wound does not progress toward closure, or if any symptoms escalate beyond the scope of basic first aid management.

10. KIT RESTOCKING: After any deployment, document all consumed components and procure exact medical-grade replacements before returning the kit to active readiness status.
