- Don the included vinyl gloves to establish a protective barrier before touching the wound.
- Clean the area around the wound using antiseptic towelettes and remove any superficial debris with tweezers.
- Apply direct pressure with a sterile gauze pad to control bleeding.
- Select and apply the appropriate bandage or dressing to cover and protect the entire wound.
- Secure the dressing if necessary with adhesive tape and advise the individual to monitor for signs of infection.
