Quick Overview

Kemp USA Insect Bite Relief Pads are single-use medicated wipes that provide immediate, temporary relief from pain, itching, and minor swelling caused by non-venomous insect bites and stings, and are designed for bulk deployment across individual, squad, vehicle, and facility first aid kits in forestry, search and rescue, camp counseling, and public safety operations.

Each pad is saturated with an analgesic solution and sealed in a foil-lined, single-use packet featuring a pre-cut tear-notch for rapid, tool-less field opening. The single-use design prevents cross-contamination between personnel, and the slim packet profile allows 3 to 5 pads to be stocked in an individual first aid kit with minimal space penalty. The master case contains 3,000 units, making it a practical resupply asset for high-volume operational environments where insect exposure is constant and treatment demand is predictable.

Deployment protocol follows a three-phase sequence: assessment, application, and post-application monitoring. During assessment, the operator confirms the absence of severe allergic reaction symptoms, visually inspects the site, and removes any stinger using a firm edge rather than tweezers. Application involves wiping the medicated pad across the affected area for 5 to 10 seconds to ensure thorough coverage. Post-application, the pad is disposed of immediately and the individual is monitored for adverse reaction or worsening symptoms.

Critical operational limitations apply. These pads address minor, localized irritations from non-venomous sources such as mosquitoes, flies, and ants. They are not indicated for venomous bites or stings, anaphylaxis, or severe allergic reactions. The product contains no epinephrine and is not a substitute for an epinephrine auto-injector. The pads are latex-free and DEHP-free, reducing allergic reaction risk for personnel with known material sensitivities.

Field Application Steps

1. ASSESS FOR SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION: Verbally confirm the individual has no symptoms of anaphylaxis or severe allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing, facial swelling, spreading hives, dizziness, or nausea. If any of these symptoms are present, cease first aid pad deployment and activate EMS immediately.

2. INSPECT THE BITE SITE: Visually confirm the injury is a minor, localized bite or sting from a non-venomous source. This product is indicated for mosquitoes, flies, and ants. Efficacy may be limited against wasps, hornets, or fire ants.

3. REMOVE STINGER IF PRESENT: If a stinger is visible at the site, scrape it away using a firm, flat edge such as a credit card or the back of a blade. Do not use tweezers, as squeezing may inject additional venom into the skin.

4. OPEN THE PACKET: Locate the pre-cut tear-notch at the top of the foil-lined packet. Tear open along the notch to expose the medicated pad. No tools are required.

5. PREPARE THE PAD: Remove the pad from the packet and unfold it fully to expose the medicated surface. Handle by the edges to keep the treatment surface uncontaminated.

6. APPLY TO AFFECTED AREA: Apply the pad directly to the bite or sting site using a firm, wiping motion. Continue wiping for 5 to 10 seconds to ensure thorough coverage and full delivery of the analgesic solution to the affected skin surface.

7. DISPOSE OF USED MATERIALS: Discard the used pad and empty foil packet immediately after application. This product is single-use only. Do not re-use or share between personnel.

8. ADVISE AND MONITOR: Instruct the individual to avoid touching or scratching the treated area. Monitor for improvement or any adverse reaction such as rash or increased irritation. If symptoms worsen or do not improve within a reasonable period, direct the individual to seek further medical evaluation.
