Quick Overview

The Kemp USA Medical Supply Pack H is a comprehensive, pre-packaged EMS resupply system designed for trained first responders, including paramedics and EMTs, to rapidly replenish a professional-grade medical bag and manage trauma, hemorrhage, and airway emergencies in the field.

The Medical Supply Pack H supports field operations ranging from Basic Life Support to Advanced Life Support adjuncts. Its component selection is organized by operational purpose across nine categories, covering airway and respiratory management, hemorrhage control, patient assessment, spinal motion restriction, wound care, burn management, medications, PPE, and instruments. The pack is designed for integration into an existing carriage system such as the Kemp USA Ultimate EMS Backpack, not as a standalone kit.

Deployment follows the MARCH/C-ABCDE protocol, addressing life threats in order of lethality. Catastrophic hemorrhage is managed first using the CAT Tourniquet and Trauma Dressings, followed by airway management with the Ambu ResCue Pump and OPA adjuncts, then breathing assessment with the Pulse Oximeter and BVM on high-flow oxygen. Secondary survey and packaging include cervical immobilization with the Perfit Ace C-Collar, full vital sign acquisition, fracture splinting, and structured hand-off to transport units.

Readiness protocols require pre-shift confirmation of O2 cylinder pressure above 500 psi, visual staging of life-saving items, monthly full inventory audits, and quarterly expiration date checks with priority replacement of QuikClot, sterile dressings, and Glucose Gel. Following any operational use, the kit must be taken out of service, decontaminated, fully restocked, and verified against the component list before redeployment.

Field Application Steps

1. CONFIRM SCENE SAFETY: Coordinate with law enforcement and observe for active hazards including fuel leaks, downed power lines, and vehicle instability before approaching the patient or opening the supply pack.

2. DON PPE: Put on nitrile gloves and a surgical mask at minimum before any patient contact to maintain body substance isolation and protect both provider and patient from cross-contamination.

3. CONDUCT WINDSHIELD SURVEY: Perform an initial visual assessment of the patient's condition and mechanism of injury from outside the vehicle before entry to form your initial clinical impression.

4. CONTROL CATASTROPHIC HEMORRHAGE: Apply direct pressure to the forearm laceration using a Trauma Dressing. If arterial bleeding is uncontrolled, apply the CAT Tourniquet high and tight on the arm and record the exact time of application immediately.

5. MANAGE AIRWAY WITH C-SPINE CONTROL: Maintain manual in-line stabilization of the head and neck. Deploy the Ambu ResCue Pump to suction gurgling secretions from the airway. If the patient is unresponsive with no gag reflex, insert an appropriately sized OPA from the 6-pack.

6. ASSESS BREATHING AND SUPPORT VENTILATION: Attach the Pulse Oximeter to monitor SpO2 and assess respiratory rate, depth, and quality. If respirations are inadequate, fewer than 8 or greater than 30 per minute or shallow, begin assisted ventilations using the BVM connected to high-flow oxygen from the D Cylinder.

7. ASSESS CIRCULATION AND TREAT FOR SHOCK: Check central and peripheral pulses and assess skin color, temperature, and condition. Cover the patient with a Mylar Blanket to prevent heat loss and mitigate shock progression.

8. PERFORM DISABILITY AND EXPOSURE ASSESSMENT: Use the Penlight to check pupillary response for neurological status. Use Utility Shears to expose the torso and extremities and search for additional injuries including penetrating trauma requiring the Vent Chest Seal.

9. APPLY CERVICAL COLLAR: Fit and apply the Perfit Ace Adjustable C-Collar before initiating any patient movement to immobilize the cervical spine. Verify correct sizing to prevent airway compromise or inadequate immobilization.

10. OBTAIN FULL VITAL SIGNS: Use the sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, and Pulse Oximeter to establish a complete baseline vital sign set. Document all findings for continuity of care and hand-off reporting.

11. IMMOBILIZE FRACTURES AND DRESS WOUNDS: Stabilize suspected fractures using the 36-inch Splint Roll and elastic bandages, securing with triangular bandages for slings or swathes as appropriate. Clean and dress minor wounds using gauze pads, stretch gauze rolls, and antiseptic supplies.

12. COMPLETE PATIENT HAND-OFF: Communicate all assessment findings and every intervention performed, including tourniquet time of application, to the incoming transport unit during hand-off to ensure continuity of definitive care.
