- Size the stretcher to the patient, then separate the two halves by disengaging the head and foot latches.
- With C-spine control maintained, position one half on each side of the patient and gently slide them underneath until they meet.
- Securely connect the foot-end latch first, followed by the head-end latch, ensuring both are fully engaged with an audible click.
- Apply the three restraint straps across the chest, pelvis, and lower legs to immobilize the patient to the device.
- Execute a coordinated lift by a minimum of two rescuers to transfer the patient to a primary transport device (e.g., gurney).
- Once transferred, immediately remove the scoop stretcher by separating the halves and sliding them out from under the patient.
