Quick Overview

The R&B Disaster Supply Pack is a rapidly deployable hanging medical supply panel used by EMS providers, disaster response teams, and field medical personnel to organize and dispense critical supplies at a centralized point during Mass Casualty Incidents.

The system converts any suitable vertical surface into an organized medical cache by suspending a 56-by-25-inch hanging panel from three heavy-duty plastic hooks attached to a shelter frame, vehicle side, or structurally sound fence. Sixteen clear vinyl pockets with individual zippers allow providers to visually identify and retrieve specific supplies without disturbing adjacent compartments, reducing retrieval time under operational stress. The outer carrying bag is constructed from 1000 Denier Cordura nylon, protecting the panel during transport and storage, and includes a clear ID window for mission-specific load plan labeling.

Deployment follows a four-phase protocol: site selection, panel deployment, active operations, and recovery with repackaging. The anchor point must provide a minimum of 60 inches of vertical clearance, and all three mounting hooks must be fully seated before the panel is unrolled. During operations, the CCP manager can assess supply levels from a distance, enabling proactive resupply before critical items are exhausted.

Readiness requires monthly inspection of hooks, straps, pocket vinyl, and all zippers, conducted alongside a full inventory and restock after every deployment. A documented load plan must be maintained with the kit at all times, with the outer ID window clearly marked to match the designated mission profile.

Field Application Steps

1. SELECT AN ANCHOR POINT: Identify a vertical anchor surface with a minimum of 60 inches of vertical clearance, such as a pop-up shelter frame, vehicle ladder rack, grab handle, or structurally sound fence. Position the anchor point for direct provider access and out of primary patient movement paths.

2. EXTRACT THE PANEL: Open the heavy-duty double zippers on the outer carrying bag using the wide-mouth opening and extract the rolled supply panel from the bag. Set the outer bag aside in a secure location for repackaging at conclusion of operations.

3. IDENTIFY AND STAGE THE HOOKS: Locate the three heavy-duty plastic hooks at the top of the rolled panel before mounting. Confirm the anchor point can support a fully loaded kit weight of 20 to 30 pounds or more before proceeding.

4. MOUNT THE PANEL: Attach all three hooks to the horizontal anchor point and confirm each hook is fully seated and stable before releasing the panel. Engaging all three hooks is required to distribute weight correctly across the mounting system.

5. UNROLL AND ADJUST HEIGHT: Unroll the panel downward and allow it to hang freely from the mounted hooks. Adjust the straps connected to the hooks so the middle rows of pockets are at eye level for the average provider.

6. ANNOUNCE PANEL LOCATION AND FUNCTION: Call out the panel's location and supply designation aloud to all personnel in the treatment area, using a clear announcement such as "BLEEDING CONTROL SUPPLIES ON THE WEST WALL PANEL." This step is operationally critical for multi-provider access in a chaotic scene environment.

7. CONDUCT OPERATIONS: Providers self-serve by visually identifying items through the clear vinyl pockets, unzipping only the specific pocket needed, and retrieving the supply without disturbing adjacent compartments. The CCP manager monitors visible supply levels from a distance to anticipate and initiate resupply before critical items are depleted.

8. CONDUCT RECOVERY INVENTORY: At conclusion of operations, systematically inventory all 16 pockets and document remaining supplies against the established load plan. Note all items requiring restock or replacement, including any expired products identified during inventory.

9. REPACKAGE THE PANEL: Zip all 16 individual pockets securely, even if empty, then roll the panel tightly from the bottom upward toward the top hooks. Detach the hooks from the anchor point after the panel is fully rolled.

10. SECURE IN CARRYING BAG AND PREPARE FOR SUSTAINMENT: Place the rolled panel back into the outer carrying bag and close both heavy-duty zippers fully. Prepare the kit for decontamination per agency-specific protocols, restock to the documented load plan, and return to climate-controlled storage away from prolonged direct sunlight.
