The harness centralizes dual communications equipment on the operator's torso through two adjustable side-by-side radio holders with a shock-cord retention system. Elastic cinch cords loop over each radio or antenna base and lock down to prevent ejection during dynamic movement or inverted postures. An internal map and notebook pocket, zippered utility pouch, and spare battery pouch allow the operator to carry an IAP, GPS, batteries, and critical reference materials without secondary bag carriage.

Deployment protocol requires fit adjustment on the empty harness first, followed by equipment loading with the primary radio positioned on the dominant-hand side. Speaker microphones attach to shoulder straps on physically separated sides, a deliberate configuration that prevents cross-transmission and channel confusion under operational stress. All cabling must be routed and secured before donning the loaded harness for final radio checks.

The harness provides no ballistic, fire, chemical, or impact protection and functions exclusively as a load carriage platform. The horizontal reflective strip enhances operator visibility to vehicle traffic and heavy equipment in low-light or smoke conditions, but its effectiveness is negated if covered by SCBA harnesses, PFDs, or heavy soiling. Field Application Steps

1. PRE-MISSION FIT ADJUSTMENT: Don the empty harness over your intended uniform or outerwear. Adjust shoulder straps so the top of the main panel rests at mid-chest level, then set the waist strap to a snug fit that prevents harness movement without constricting breathing. Remove the harness before loading any equipment.

2. RADIO DESIGNATION AND INSERTION: Designate your primary and secondary radios before loading. Place the most-used radio on your dominant-hand side, insert both radios into their respective holders, and orient each antenna to maintain a clear transmission path away from your head and face.

3. SHOCK-CORD RETENTION: Loop the shock cord over each radio or antenna base and tighten the cinch tab until the radio is firmly secured. Verify retention on each radio by applying a light upward pull. Confirm the cord holds before proceeding.

4. INTERNAL POCKET AND POUCH LOADING: Load your IAP, maps, or reference cards into the internal map pocket accessed from the top of the main panel. Place spare batteries and critical small items in the spare battery pouch. Secure a GPS unit or cell phone in the zippered utility pouch and confirm all zippers are fully closed.

5. SPEAKER MIC ATTACHMENT AND CABLE ROUTING: Clip the primary radio speaker mic to the shoulder strap on the same side as the primary radio. Attach the secondary radio speaker mic to the opposite shoulder strap to create physical separation between channels, reducing confusion and cross-transmission risk under stress. Route all cables neatly along the harness to eliminate snag points.

6. DONNING AND FINAL SYSTEMS CHECK: Don the fully loaded harness and confirm both radios are powered on and set to the correct channels. Perform a radio check on each device independently. Verify that bending, turning, and crouching does not dislodge any equipment or cause antennas to strike your face, and confirm all pouch closures are secured before moving to the operational area.
