Field Application Steps

1. ESTABLISH BASE LOAD: Place the heaviest, densest items, including the inline pressure gauge, gate valve, and large adapters, directly onto the "Tuff Bottom" to lower the bag's center of gravity and prevent instability during transport.

2. LAYER LONG TOOLS: Lay pipe wrenches or spanner wrenches lengthwise on top of the base items, orienting them to maximize use of interior space without creating pressure points on the bag body.

3. ADD ANCILLARY ITEMS: Place smaller, loose items such as door chocks, wedges, and utility straps on top of or in the voids around the larger tools to prevent shifting during stairwell ascent.

4. SECURE THE CLOSURE: Press the Velcro hook-and-loop closure firmly along its entire length, ensuring full contact across the seam before transport.

5. TRANSPORT TO POINT OF OPERATION: Carry the bag using the web handles with a firm, two-handed grip. Maintain situational awareness of crew members and egress paths during ascent. Do not swing the bag, as tool weight creates momentum that can cause loss of balance on stairs.

6. ESTABLISH TOOL STATION: At the standpipe outlet, place the bag firmly on its "Tuff Bottom" adjacent to the connection point. Position it against a wall to minimize its trip hazard profile in the path of advancing or retreating crews.

7. ACCESS TOOLS: Grip one edge of the top flap and pull forcefully and continuously in a single motion. The Velcro seal is designed to open fully in one decisive pull, even with structural firefighting gloves.

8. STAGE TOOLS FOR CONNECTION: Remove tools in the order of intended use and lay them out on the floor or a stair tread for immediate access by the operating crew.

9. POST-OPERATION CONSOLIDATION: Account for and return all assigned tools to the bag after operations conclude. Secure the top closure fully before transporting back to the apparatus to prevent equipment loss during egress.

10. POST-INCIDENT INSPECTION AND DECONTAMINATION: Empty the bag completely, then clean interior and exterior vinyl surfaces with soap, water, and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before repacking. Inspect handles and stitching, the vinyl body, the Tuff Bottom, and the Velcro closure per the Section 5.2 criteria before returning the bag to service.
