The headlamp delivers 1000 lumens through a COB LED emitter housed in an aluminum lamp housing that doubles as a heat sink during extended High-mode operation. A single Power/Mode button cycles through High, Low, and Strobe modes in sequence. The adjustable zoom bezel transitions between a wide flood beam for close-range area lighting and a focused spotlight for long-distance observation. The 90-degree tilt mechanism allows the operator to direct light precisely without repositioning the head, reducing fatigue during prolonged deployment.

The internal rechargeable battery provides 3 hours of runtime on High and 6 hours on Low, charged via Micro-USB through a port protected by a rubber flap. The unit is rated IPX4, meaning it is splash-resistant but not submersible. Submersion will cause permanent failure. Every operation must begin with a full charge, and units stored in caches require a full recharge at least once every 90 days to maintain readiness.

The strobe function is reserved for emergency signaling to air and ground assets and must be used away from personnel due to the risk of triggering seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy. The headlamp is not intrinsically safe and must not be deployed near explosive atmospheres.

Field Application Steps

1. DONNING AND SECURING: Place the headlamp on your head or helmet and adjust the 3-way elastic head strap using the sliders until the unit is centered, aimed forward, and does not shift when you move. The lamp must be stable before activation.

2. PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION: Inspect the aluminum housing and lens for cracks, check the head strap for elasticity and frayed stitching, open the rubber charging port cover to confirm no debris or moisture is present, and verify the unit accepts a charge. Begin every operation with a confirmed full charge.

3. FUNCTION AND MECHANISM CHECK: Cycle through all three modes, High, Low, and Strobe, to confirm the emitter and driver are operational. Rotate the zoom bezel through its full range and pivot the tilt mechanism through its full 90 degrees, confirming both move freely and hold position.

4. INITIAL ACTIVATION AND AREA ASSESSMENT: Press the Power Button once to activate High Mode and perform an initial 360-degree scan of the immediate area. Press again to drop to Low Mode for standard movement, conserving battery and preserving night vision.

5. BEAM ADJUSTMENT FOR TASK: For trail navigation, set a medium flood beam and tilt the lamp downward to illuminate ground 5 to 10 feet ahead. For area scanning, set a focused spotlight aimed forward or slightly upward toward tree lines or clearings. For close-quarters or technical work, set the widest flood beam and tilt directly onto the subject for shadow-free illumination.

6. EMERGENCY SIGNALING: Press the Power Button three times to activate Strobe Mode. Aim toward the sky or in the direction of other search teams to signal position or indicate distress. Deploy strobe away from nearby personnel to avoid photosensitive hazard.

7. DEACTIVATION AND STOWAGE: Cycle the Power Button until the unit is off. If the mission is complete, stow the headlamp in its designated kit location. If a break occurs during an ongoing operation, immediately place the unit on the charger to restore readiness for the next operational period.
