Field Application Steps

1. PRE-DEPLOYMENT INSPECTION: Visually inspect the bladder body, drinking tube, and bite valve for cracks, tears, discoloration, or mold. Confirm cap threads are clean and undamaged before filling.

2. FILL THE RESERVOIR: Fill with a confirmed potable water source only, leaving approximately 2 inches of air space at the top to prevent seam stress under pressure.

3. PURGE AIR FROM THE TUBE: Seal the cap, invert the bladder, and squeeze the reservoir to force water through the drinking tube until it reaches the bite valve. This eliminates audible sloshing during movement and confirms full tube prime.

4. CONFIRM CAP AND VALVE INTEGRITY: Re-check cap tightness to ensure a watertight seal. Confirm the bite valve is not dripping before pack integration.

5. INTEGRATE INTO PACK: Access the pack's dedicated hydration sleeve or compartment. Align the dual 1-inch top attachment points with the corresponding hook or strap system and suspend the bladder securely. Confirm the bladder hangs freely and is not bunched at the bottom.

6. ROUTE THE DRINKING TUBE: Feed the tube through the pack's designated hydration port, route it down the chosen shoulder strap, and secure it using built-in elastic loops or aftermarket clips to prevent snagging. Position the bite valve near the clavicle or chin for low-movement access.

7. CONDUCT SYSTEM FUNCTION CHECK: Move the on/off switch to ON, bite and draw a small amount of water to confirm flow and complete air purge, then release the valve. Immediately return the switch to OFF. This is the standard carry configuration.

8. HYDRATE UNDERWAY: Bring the valve to your mouth, move the switch to ON, and bite and draw as needed. Immediately after drinking, return the switch to OFF before re-securing the valve on the shoulder strap.

9. POST-MISSION DRAIN AND WASH: Upon mission completion, immediately drain all remaining water. Add warm water and a drop of mild, non-scented dish soap, seal and shake vigorously, then scrub interior surfaces with a long-handled brush and the tube with a thin tube brush.

10. RINSE THOROUGHLY: Rinse the reservoir, tube, and bite valve with clean water until all soap residue is eliminated. Cycle clean water through the full length of the tube and through the bite valve before drying.

11. DRY FOR STORAGE: Hang the reservoir upside down with the fill port open. Insert a bladder hanger, kitchen whisk, or wadded paper towels to hold the walls apart for complete airflow. Disconnect or hang the tube to allow full drainage, forcing air through if necessary. Store only when 100 percent dry, in a cool, dark location or in a freezer to inhibit microbial growth.
