Weave the rear MOLLE straps through a minimum of two rows of PALS webbing to prevent shifting or sagging under full load.

2. PRE-LOAD INSPECTION: Insert a shell into several elastic loops to verify firm resistance and adequate tension. Test both metal snaps for positive engagement and clear the hook-and-loop surfaces of any lint or debris before loading.

3. LOAD SHELLS WITH CONSISTENT ORIENTATION: Insert all shells into the elastic loops brass-down and payload-up to establish a consistent index point for tactile extraction. If carrying mixed loads such as buckshot, slugs, or breaching rounds, segregate them by row or section to enable positive identification in low-light or high-stress conditions.

4. SECURE FOR PATROL OR APPROACH: Engage both metal snaps and seat the hook-and-loop flap fully before movement. Both closures must be active during patrol, approach, or any dynamic movement phase.

5. DEFEAT CLOSURES FOR ACCESS: During a lull in action or from a covered position, disengage both metal snaps first, then break the hook-and-loop seal with a decisive upward pull on the flap tab.

6. DEPLOY THE TRI-FOLD PANEL: Allow the tri-fold panel to open to its full 21.75-inch length, exposing all 25 shells simultaneously for visual confirmation and selection.

7. EXTRACT REQUIRED SHELLS: Firmly grasp the casing of each needed shell and pull it clear of the elastic loop. Extract only the number of rounds required for the immediate replenishment task.

8. REPLENISH PRIMARY CARRIER: Reload the shotgun's side-saddle, stock holder, or load directly into the magazine tube or chamber as the tactical situation dictates.

9. SECURE POUCH IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE: Re-fold the tri-fold panel, seat the hook-and-loop flap, and re-engage both metal snaps before resuming movement. A deployed 21.75-inch panel presents a significant snag hazard on vegetation, doorways, and equipment.

10. POST-USE MAINTENANCE: Remove all ammunition before cleaning. Brush off dried mud or wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, rinsing sparingly. Air dry the pouch completely, including the interior, before restowing to prevent mildew and corrosion of metal components.

11. LONG-TERM STORAGE PROTOCOL: Store the pouch empty to preserve elastic loop tension. Storing the pouch fully loaded for extended static periods will permanently degrade the elastic and compromise shell retention.
