Quick Overview

The Rothco MOLLE Roll-Up Utility Dump Pouch is a rapidly deployable, high-capacity temporary retention pouch used by tactical law enforcement, military operators, and SAR personnel to manage spent magazines, collected evidence, and mission-essential items under operational stress.

The pouch is constructed from 600D polyester and integrates with any PALS-compatible load-bearing equipment via dual MOLLE straps and metal snap closures. Its roll-up profile keeps the footprint minimal when stowed, preventing snags and maintaining a streamlined kit configuration. A hook-and-loop retention tab secures the rolled body until deployment is required, allowing single-hand release during dynamic operations. The cinch-cord storm flap reduces the aperture when contents must be secured during high-mobility movement.

The system is designed for gross-motor-skill-compatible use. Following a tactical or emergency reload, an operator can sweep a spent magazine into the wide aperture without re-indexing or breaking tempo. The grommet drainage hole at the base passively clears water, sand, and fine debris, preventing weight accumulation during field operations. These design features collectively support readiness without adding cognitive or physical burden to the operator.

This pouch is explicitly a temporary stowage solution, not a secured container or load-bearing platform. Evidence collected in the field requires proper bagging and tagging after removal. Sensitive items, electronics, and critical documents should not be stored here. Pre-operation inspection of MOLLE straps, metal snaps, hook-and-loop hardware, and the cinch-cord toggle is required before every deployment to prevent equipment loss under load.

Field Application Steps

1. IDENTIFY MOUNTING LOCATION: Select a position on your load-bearing equipment, typically on the support-hand side aft of primary magazine pouches. The location must allow unimpeded support-hand access without interfering with your secondary weapon draw.

2. WEAVE MOLLE STRAPS: Unsnap both metal closures and thread each strap through your PALS webbing, alternating between gear webbing and pouch webbing. Use a minimum of two rows of PALS webbing for secure integration.

3. SECURE METAL SNAPS: Pull both straps taut and engage the metal snap on each strap until you hear and feel a positive click. Tug firmly on the pouch body to confirm it does not shift or sag excessively under load.

4. DEPLOY FROM STOWED CONFIGURATION: With your support hand, grasp the bottom of the rolled pouch and pull firmly on the hook-and-loop retention tab to release it. Deliver a sharp downward flick of the wrist to unfurl the pouch to its full 9 inch by 8.5 inch open state.

5. DEPOSIT ITEMS: Sweep spent magazines or collected items into the wide aperture using a single gross-motor movement. Do not attempt to place items precisely. The design supports rapid deposit under stress without breaking operational tempo.

6. SECURE CONTENTS AS REQUIRED: If high-mobility tasks such as running, jumping, or going prone are anticipated, locate the cinch-cord toggle and pull to tighten the storm flap. Execute this step only when tactically permissible, as it is a secondary action.

7. EMPTY AND PREPARE FOR STOWAGE: Remove all contents from the pouch before rolling. Confirm the interior is clear before proceeding.

8. FOLD AND ROLL: Beginning at the bottom edge, roll the pouch tightly upward, expelling trapped air as you progress. Maintain consistent tension to achieve a tight, uniform roll.

9. SECURE RETENTION TAB: Continue rolling until the hook-and-loop retention tab can reach and engage the pouch body. Press the tab firmly into place to lock the stowed configuration.

10. CONFIRM STOWAGE: Visually and physically verify the pouch has returned to its compact, low-profile state on your LBE before resuming operations.
