- Inspect pack, bladder, and hose for integrity and leaks before filling with potable water.
- Load filled bladder into the main compartment and mission-essential items into the front utility pocket.
- Don the pack and adjust shoulder and sternum straps for a secure, high-and-tight fit to eliminate movement.
- Route the drinking hose over the shoulder, securing it for access, and set the bite valve to the 'Off' position to prevent leaks.
- After drinking, blow air back through the tube to clear it (in cold weather) and always return the valve to 'Off' during movement.
- Utilize quick-release buckles for emergency doffing in entanglement or water-immersion scenarios.
