Quick Overview

This blanket's primary use is to prevent and treat hypothermia in trauma casualties by reflecting their body heat, while its olive drab exterior provides concealment in tactical environments. It also serves as a secondary multi-tool for improvising waterproof shelter, ground cloths, or solar reflectors.

Field Application Steps

  1. Carefully remove from packaging and unfold to full size, avoiding tears.
  2. Orient the blanket with the SILVER side IN, toward the casualty, to reflect body heat.
  3. Wrap the casualty completely, covering the head and feet, to create a sealed thermal envelope.
  4. Ensure the face is uncovered and the airway remains clear at all times.
  5. Secure the edges with tape or by tucking them under the body to prevent heat loss from wind.
  6. For use as a solar shield, rig with the SILVER side OUT to deflect sunlight.
