Quick Overview

The Kemp USA Slider Transfer Board is a friction-reducing device used to facilitate lateral transfers of patients or decedents between two adjacent surfaces, such as a gurney and a hospital bed. Its primary purpose is to significantly reduce the physical strain on caregivers and improve patient safety by enabling a smooth slide rather than a heavy lift.

Field Application Steps

  1. Align the two surfaces (e.g., gurney and bed), lock all brakes, and adjust heights so the destination surface is level with or slightly lower than the origin.
  2. Using a draw sheet, log-roll the patient and position the slider board underneath their back, bridging the gap between the two surfaces.
  3. Roll the patient back to a supine position, centered on the board and draw sheet.
  4. On a coordinated verbal command, one operator pulls the draw sheet while the other guides, sliding the patient smoothly across the board.
  5. Once the patient is fully on the destination surface, log-roll them again to cleanly extract the slider board.
