- Align the two surfaces (e.g., gurney and bed), lock all brakes, and adjust heights so the destination surface is level with or slightly lower than the origin.
- Using a draw sheet, log-roll the patient and position the slider board underneath their back, bridging the gap between the two surfaces.
- Roll the patient back to a supine position, centered on the board and draw sheet.
- On a coordinated verbal command, one operator pulls the draw sheet while the other guides, sliding the patient smoothly across the board.
- Once the patient is fully on the destination surface, log-roll them again to cleanly extract the slider board.
