Quick Overview

The G3+ Golden Hour is a 34-liter self-standing equipment carriage system used by EMS, tactical medicine, and rescue operators to deploy BLS, ALS, and trauma medical supplies in constrained environments during the critical golden hour of patient care.

The pack's core capability is its self-standing, vertical workstation design. The "Stand-Strong" impregnated base keeps the pack upright and off contaminated surfaces on wet, dirty, or uneven ground. The foam-lined shell maintains structural shape as contents are removed, enabling one-handed access and efficient restocking without laying the pack flat. This architecture is engineered for environments where floor space is nonexistent and speed of access is non-negotiable.

Internal organization is built around a consistent, repeatable equipment layout. A removable Velcro-secured shelf separates bulky items like BVMs and splinting material at the bottom from mission-critical airway and bleeding control kits on top. Velcro-lined interior walls lock modular pouches in position during transport, and two vertical side pockets stage immediate-action items including gloves, trauma shears, tourniquets, and PPE for retrieval before the main compartment is ever opened.

Readiness protocols for this system require a pre-shift inspection covering exterior fabric and seams, hardware function, internal shelf seating, and contents verification against an established load list. Zippers are identified as a primary failure point and must be kept clean and inspected before each deployment. After biohazard or HAZMAT exposure, the pack must be removed from service for full decontamination per agency protocol, as the impregnated base is water-resistant, not impermeable to all chemicals or pathogens.

Field Application Steps

1. APPROACH AND STAGING: Carry the pack secured on your back until you reach the operational area. Identify the most stable available surface, such as the passenger floorboard or seat, place the pack firmly on the "Stand-Strong" base, and verify upright stability before releasing it. Do not lay the pack flat.

2. DON PPE BEFORE OPENING THE MAIN COMPARTMENT: Retrieve gloves and any required PPE from the external vertical side pocket before accessing the main compartment. This keeps the main compartment sealed until your hands are protected and prevents contamination of internal contents.

3. RETRIEVE IMMEDIATE-ACTION TOOLS FROM EXTERNAL POCKETS: Access trauma shears and tourniquets from the external side pockets for seatbelt cutting, injury exposure, or hemorrhage control prior to full pack deployment. These items are staged externally specifically to support the first sixty seconds of patient contact.

4. OPEN THE MAIN COMPARTMENT VERTICALLY: Pull the zipper pulls down fully to open the pack in its vertical orientation, presenting the complete internal loadout without requiring the pack to be repositioned. Access modules according to your patient assessment priorities.

5. WORK FROM THE INTERNAL SHELF LAYOUT: Retrieve mission-critical kits, airway, and bleeding control from the upper section above the removable shelf. Access bulkier items such as BVMs and splinting material from the lower section as the clinical situation requires.

6. USE VISUAL GAPS AS A RESTOCKING CUE: As modules and supplies are used, the vacated positions in the Velcro-lined interior serve as an immediate visual indicator of what has been consumed. Note these gaps for post-mission restock.

7. REPOSITION USING THE TOP GRAB HANDLE: When the patient is being extricated or the scene evolves, zip the main compartment closed to secure remaining contents. Use the reinforced top grab handle to restage the pack rapidly without donning the full shoulder strap system.

8. CONDUCT POST-MISSION SUSTAINMENT: Immediately replace all used, damaged, or expired supplies against your established load list. Wipe the exterior and interior with a damp cloth and mild soap or approved cleaner, and air dry completely before closing or restocking to prevent mildew.

9. DECONTAMINATE IF INDICATED: If the pack was exposed to bloodborne pathogens or other contaminants during the mission, remove it from service and decontaminate per your agency protocol before returning it to readiness. Do not fully submerge the pack.

10. PERFORM PRE-SHIFT INSPECTION BEFORE NEXT DEPLOYMENT: Inspect all exterior fabric, seams, and straps for tears or UV damage. Operate all zippers, buckles, and clasps to confirm smooth function. Confirm the internal shelf is firmly seated on its Velcro mounts and verify full inventory with expiration dates before clearing the pack as field-ready.
