Quick Overview

The StatPacks G3+ Intravenous Cell is a dedicated, foam-molded medical module used by paramedics, combat medics, and flight nurses to organize and rapidly deploy IV and IO vascular access supplies during Advanced Life Support interventions.

The G3+ IV Cell is engineered around one operational priority: reducing time from decision to intervention. Its clamshell-opening main compartment lays fully flat, presenting all contents simultaneously for systematic IV line preparation. Internal elastic loops segregate catheters by gauge, while zippered pouches contain tubing sets and IV start kits. The Velcro backing anchors the module securely inside any compatible StatPacks G3+ or G4 system, preventing shifting during transport in dynamic field environments.

The module's blue exterior color serves as a standardized visual identifier within a color-coded modular system, reducing cognitive load and search time under stress. High-visibility zipper pulls enable rapid, positive-grip access with gloved hands or in low-light conditions. The transparent ID window accepts a custom label card confirming contents without opening the module, supporting fast confirmation during pre-deployment inspection.

Readiness is maintained through daily pre-shift inspection covering physical integrity, contents PAR check, and ID card verification. All consumable items, including catheters, fluids, flushes, and prep pads, require expiration date verification at the start of each rotation and after every use. After any operational use where a component is removed, the entire module is considered out of service until fully restocked, decontaminated, and verified.

Field Application Steps

1. OPEN AND IDENTIFY: Open your primary medical pack and visually locate the Blue Intravenous Cell by its standardized blue exterior. Grasp the top handle and extract the module from the pack.

2. STAGE THE MODULE: Place the cell on a stable, clean surface near the patient, such as a gurney, countertop, or ground on a sterile drape. Use the high-visibility zipper pulls to completely unzip the module and open it flat.

3. CONFIRM CONTENTS: Verify that all required supplies are present and accessible before initiating any procedure. Cross-reference against your service's approved load list if time permits.

4. APPLY TOURNIQUET: Retrieve the tourniquet from the immediate-access outer pocket or top layer and apply it to the patient's affected limb to establish venous engorgement for access.

5. PREP THE SITE: Retrieve an antiseptic prep pad, either alcohol or chlorhexidine, and cleanse the selected cannulation site using your service's approved technique.

6. SELECT AND INSERT CATHETER: Choose the appropriate gauge IV catheter from the dedicated elastic loop, with 18g, 20g, and 22g available in the recommended loadout. Perform cannulation according to your credentialed training and local protocol.

7. SECURE THE LINE: Upon successful cannulation, retrieve the saline lock or primary IV tubing from the main elastic loop section. Complete the procedure by retrieving a pre-filled saline flush and IV securement dressing to lock the line in place.

8. EXECUTE POST-INTERVENTION ACTIONS: Dispose of all single-use items and sharps immediately in an appropriate sharps container. Secure any remaining supplies within the cell, zip it closed, and return it to its designated location in the main pack.

9. MARK FOR RESTOCK: Flag the module for decontamination and full restock at the earliest opportunity. The module is considered out of service until contents are fully replenished, decontaminated, and verified against the approved load list.
