Quick Overview

The StatPacks G3+ MedSlinger is a 23-liter crossbody sling pack designed for rapid deployment of BLS and trauma supplies, used by bike medics, tactical law enforcement, and event medical personnel operating in high-mobility, time-critical environments.

The G3+ MedSlinger's defining capability is the swing-and-deploy mechanism. The crossbody sling strap allows the operator to transition the pack from back-carry to a chest-mounted work platform in a single fluid motion, eliminating the need to remove the pack or place equipment on contaminated ground. The 18"x12"x4" main compartment is lined with Velcro loop fabric and accepts modular StatPacks G3+ Cells or bulk dressings, configurable per mission profile. The top "Office" pocket provides segregated, immediate-access storage for PPE, shears, pupil lights, and batteries, functioning as the first-access point at every scene.

The tarpaulin exterior resists fluid penetration from blood, body fluids, water, and oil, and supports decontamination via approved intermediate-level disinfectants such as CaviWipes or Sani-Cloth. The reinforced Stand-Strong base allows the pack to stand independently on flat surfaces, protecting contents from ground contamination during field operations. Load management is a critical operational consideration: the single-strap design places full weight on one shoulder, and total loaded weight must not exceed 15 to 20 pounds to prevent operator fatigue and injury.

This system is not a primary long-duration response bag and is not intended for ALS equipment, extensive pharmaceuticals, or sustainment gear. Readiness protocol requires pre-operational physical inspection, contents inventory against the agency load list, and consumables checks before every deployment.

Field Application Steps

1. DON AND ADJUST THE PACK: Route the padded sling strap across the torso, for example over the right shoulder with the pack resting on the left lower back. Tighten the strap to a snug fit that prevents shifting during running or cycling.

2. VERIFY PRE-OPERATIONAL READINESS: Before deployment, inspect all seams, straps, and buckles for tears, fraying, or cracks, and confirm all zipper pulls are functional and unobstructed. Open all compartments and verify contents against your agency load list, checking expiration dates on all dated supplies and batteries.

3. MAINTAIN SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ON APPROACH: As you approach the scene, sustain 360-degree awareness of hazards including traffic, bystanders, and environmental conditions. Do not fixate on the patient before the scene is confirmed safe.

4. EXECUTE THE SWING-AND-DEPLOY: Grasp the bottom edge of the pack with one hand and the shoulder strap with the other, then swing the pack from your back to your chest in a single, controlled motion. This transitions the pack to a chest-mounted work platform without removal of the strap.

5. ESTABLISH THE WORK PLATFORM: Position the pack horizontally across your chest and abdomen. The Stand-Strong base provides a stable surface, keeping equipment elevated off contaminated ground and accessible without kneeling.

6. ACCESS PPE FIRST: Open the top "Office" pocket to retrieve gloves before contacting the patient or any supplies. Do not skip this step regardless of the urgency of the scene.

7. ACCESS AND DEPLOY SUPPLIES: Unzip the main compartment to reach pre-configured mission supplies such as a bleeding control kit. Apply interventions directly from the stabilized pack while it remains on your chest.

8. SECURE AND TRANSITION: Close and verify all zippers before moving with the patient or repositioning. Keep the pack on the chest if continued access is needed, or swing it back to the back position for improved mobility during patient movement.

9. EXECUTE POST-OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL: After each use, decontaminate all exterior surfaces with an approved intermediate-level disinfectant and allow full manufacturer-specified contact time. Immediately restock all consumed supplies, wipe down interior surfaces, allow the pack to air dry completely before storage, and document all supplies used per your organization's protocol.
