Quick Overview

The StatPacks G3+ Oxygen Module is a foam-reinforced, high-visibility cylinder carrier designed to securely integrate a "D" or "Jumbo D" compressed oxygen cylinder into a compatible StatPacks G3+ medical pack for use by EMS and emergency response operators.

The module serves two distinct operational roles. In its primary role, it installs directly into the main compartment of a G3+ medical pack, such as the G3+ Backup or G3+ Breather, converting a general-purpose medical bag into a fully oxygen-capable response system. In its secondary role, it functions as a standalone grab-and-go carrier for short-range cylinder transport between an apparatus and a patient's side. The module is a piece of load-bearing equipment, not a medical device, and does not include the cylinder, regulator, or delivery adjuncts.

The retention system is built around an internal cradle, heavy-duty Velcro, and buckle straps that, when properly cinched, eliminate all vertical and horizontal cylinder movement. The foam-reinforced semi-rigid shell prevents pack deformation under the cylinder's weight and shields the regulator and valve assembly from blunt force impact. High-visibility green fabric meets industry-standard color coding for oxygen, enabling rapid identification in cluttered caches or low-light environments. Dimensions of 16.5 inches by 6 inches by 3 inches are engineered for a precise fit within G3+ main compartments.

Scheduled inspection at the beginning of each shift covers straps, buckles, shell integrity, and Velcro serviceability. Any failure of a primary retention strap, cracked shell structure, or tears compromising structural integrity are immediate conditions for removal from service. Decontamination requires a service-approved disinfectant with complete air drying before the module returns to deployment-ready status.

Field Application Steps

1. PRE-DEPLOYMENT MODULE INSPECTION: Examine the module for rips, tears, or chemical contamination. Actuate each buckle to confirm lock and release function, and verify Velcro surfaces are clear of debris.

2. PRE-DEPLOYMENT CYLINDER INSPECTION: Confirm the cylinder is a "D" or "Jumbo D" size. Check the hydrostatic test date, verify pressure via the regulator, and conduct a cracking procedure if required by your service protocol.

3. SEAT THE CYLINDER: Place the module on a flat surface and lower the cylinder base fully and squarely into the internal cradle. Orient the regulator and valve assembly outward, or per your main pack's layout, ensuring the assembly is positioned behind the module's rigid shell for impact protection.

4. SECURE RETENTION STRAPS: Route the retention straps around the cylinder body. First, engage the Velcro surfaces completely. Second, fasten the buckles and cinch the webbing tails down with significant tension. Both the mechanical buckle lock and Velcro surface grip must be fully engaged.

5. SECURITY VERIFICATION: Firmly hold the loaded module and attempt to push, pull, and rotate the cylinder in all directions. The cylinder must exhibit zero movement. If any shift, slide, or rotation is detected, release the straps and repeat Step 4 with greater tension before proceeding.

6. MAIN PACK INTEGRATION: Fully open the main compartment of the compatible G3+ bag. Using the side grab handles, lower the loaded module vertically into its designated slot and confirm correct orientation for regulator access if the pack has pass-through ports.

7. FINAL STABILITY CONFIRMATION: Close and secure the main pack completely. Lift the integrated system and simulate operational movement. Cylinder weight should feel fully absorbed by the pack with no shifting or imbalance detected.
