Field Application Steps

Confirm scene safety and don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Expose the injury, control initial life-threatening hemorrhage as required, and prepare the wound site.
Aseptically open the sterile peel-pouch and apply the ABD pad directly onto the wound or over primary gauze packing.
Secure the pad firmly in place using a pressure dressing, elastic wrap, or medical tape.
Continuously monitor the dressing for bleed-through and assess the patient for signs of shock.
