Quick Overview

The Elite Enhanced IFAK Drop Leg Kit is a professional-grade individual first aid kit mounted on an ergonomic drop leg platform that enables operators, law enforcement personnel, and field responders to execute point-of-injury trauma care for catastrophic hemorrhage and airway compromise without removing armor or gear.

The kit's drop leg platform positions medical supplies at thigh level, providing immediate access in any body position, including kneeling, seated in a vehicle, or prone. Unlike vest-mounted or backpack systems, the drop leg configuration supports self-aid without assistance, a critical capability in solo or isolated scenarios. Dual-strap retention ensures consistent positioning through high-intensity movement, vehicle egress, and physical altercations.

The component inventory is organized across three capability categories. Bleeding control supplies include a windlass tourniquet, a 4-inch Israeli bandage, compressed gauze measuring 4.5 inches by 4.1 yards, and two 5-by-9-inch abdominal pads. Airway management is supported by a nasopharyngeal airway with lubricant jelly. EMT shears and transparent tape complete the tools and general supplies section, equipping the operator to cut away clothing and secure dressings under field conditions.

The pouch detaches from the drop leg platform in seconds and mounts directly to any MOLLE-compatible vest, plate carrier, or pack using integrated PALS-compatible straps. Constructed from heavy-duty 600 Denier nylon, the fully loaded kit weighs approximately 1.75 pounds and measures 7 inches by 7.5 inches by 2.5 inches. Three color options, Black, Olive Drab, and Tan, support deployment across varied operational environments.

Field Application Steps

1. ATTACH TO BELT: Secure the main vertical strap to your duty or pistol belt using the integrated buckle and hook-and-loop fastener. Adjust ride height so the pouch sits comfortably at upper thigh level without interfering with your holster or sidearm draw.

2. SECURE THE THIGH STRAP: Wrap the elasticated thigh strap around your upper leg and fasten the buckle. Adjust for a snug fit that prevents the pouch from shifting during movement without restricting circulation.

3. CONFIRM ACCESS AND CLEARANCE: Practice drawing the tourniquet and EMT shears from the pouch to build muscle memory before deployment. Verify the pouch does not impede drawing a sidearm or transitioning between positions.

4. DETACH POUCH FOR MOLLE MOUNTING (ALTERNATE CONFIGURATION): Unclip the two main buckles securing the pouch to the drop leg platform to free the medical pouch entirely from the leg rig.

5. MOUNT TO MOLLE PLATFORM: Weave the integrated MOLLE straps on the back of the pouch through the PALS webbing on your vest, plate carrier, or pack. Pull the straps tight and confirm a secure, non-shifting fit before moving to operational status.

6. EXECUTE INITIAL TRAUMA RESPONSE (0 TO 30 SECONDS): On injury, identify the threat, move to cover, and access the IFAK immediately. Assess injuries before deploying any supplies.

7. APPLY TOURNIQUET AND PACK WOUNDS (30 TO 90 SECONDS): Apply the windlass tourniquet high and tight on the affected extremity for hemorrhage control. Pack open wounds with the compressed gauze using firm, direct pressure.

8. SECURE AIRWAY AND APPLY PRESSURE DRESSING (90 SECONDS TO 3 MINUTES): If the casualty is unconscious, lubricate the nasopharyngeal airway with the included lubricant jelly and insert per protocol. Apply the Israeli bandage as a pressure dressing over packed wounds.

9. MAINTAIN CARE AND CALL FOR EVACUATION (3 MINUTES AND BEYOND): Maintain pressure on all wound sites and monitor the patient's responsiveness and breathing. Call for MEDEVAC or escalate to higher-level care as soon as the situation permits.
